Since September 2025, members can download their own Annexure K transfer certificate directly from the EPFO member portal, instead of waiting on a request passed between two PF offices. It's a real time-saver — but it doesn't fix an Annexure K that's wrong.
Annexure K is the document that carries your service history, PF balance and transfer details from one establishment's PF account to the next — it's the paper trail that proves your pension service and PF accumulations moved correctly when you changed jobs. Until September 2025, getting a copy of it meant it was passed between PF offices on request, which is exactly the kind of inter-office step that quietly stalls for weeks with no visibility to the member.
From September 2025, EPFO made Annexure K available for members to download directly and immediately from the member portal, in PDF form, without needing to file a request or wait on office-to-office correspondence.
…your Annexure K is missing entirely, or the data on it is wrong — a gap in your service history, an incorrect PF balance, or a transfer that never actually completed. Being able to download the document faster does not fix an inaccurate or missing one; that is a correction case, not an access case. See Annexure K Missing or Wrong instead.
Employees: Anyone who has changed jobs and needs to confirm their transfer went through cleanly, or anyone applying for something (like a higher-pension claim) that requires proof of service history.
Employers: No new employer obligation — this is a member-facing self-service change, not a filing requirement on the employer side.
Pensioners (EPS members): Annexure K is directly relevant to EPS service-history verification, so this makes it faster to obtain the supporting document for a pension-related claim or correction.
NRI members: The same portal access applies; no separate process exists for NRI members specifically.
The underlying data on Annexure K — your actual service history and balance — is not affected by this change; it is purely a distribution/access improvement. If your record already had a gap or error before September 2025, it still has that gap or error now; you can just see it faster. The correction process for a wrong Annexure K remains the same grievance-and-verification route as before.
Log into the member portal and pull the latest copy — this takes minutes now instead of a formal request.
Confirm every employer, every date, and the balance figures against your own salary slips and joining/exit letters.
Reference the exact field that's incorrect, rather than a general "please check my record" request.
If your Annexure K shows a genuine gap — a missing employer period, a service-history mismatch affecting an EPS claim, or a transfer that never completed — that's a correction case that usually benefits from someone assembling the right evidence (offer letters, salary slips, prior Annexure K copies) before the grievance is filed, rather than after a rejection.
Download and review your Annexure K now, even if you don't currently need it — catching a service-history gap before you need it for a claim is far easier than fixing it under time pressure.
