OK
Where it appears: The rejection reason field on Form 19, 10C and 31 claims, under Track Claim Status.
Seen as the whole rejection reason, or as one of two, for example "1) OK 2) WAITING PERIOD OF 2 MONTHS NOT COMPLETED" or "INSUFFICIENT SERVICE/OK".
- What it means
- The office selected or left a placeholder instead of a real reason, so the remark tells you nothing.
- The fix
- Check whether a second reason is shown next to it. If not, file a grievance on EPFiGMS asking for the specific reason in writing.
- Get help when
- The grievance reply is also vague, or the claim is rejected again with "OK".
I never ask for your OTP, UAN password or bank login.
What it means
"OK" is not a reason. Members report it where the officer picked a default value, or where a second reason carries the real cause. EPFO's own instructions say every reason for rejection should be given to the member at the first stage, so you are entitled to ask what the actual reason is.
Why it happens
- A second reason is shown alongside "OK" and that's the real one.
- The remark field was filled with a default value.
- The real reason is in the SMS or email rather than the portal.
What you can do yourself (free, on the EPFO portal)
Everything in this list is done on EPFO's own portal or with your employer, and none of it needs a paid agent. I never ask for your OTP, UAN password or bank login, and nobody else should either.
- Read the full remark under Track Claim Status and in the SMS. If a second reason is there, deal with that one.
- If "OK" is all there is, file a grievance on EPFiGMS quoting the claim ID and asking for the specific reason for rejection.
- Don't refile the same claim unchanged until you know the cause; it will usually be rejected again.
- If nothing moves, file a grievance on EPFiGMS. It is EPFO's own grievance portal and it costs nothing. Quote your UAN and the exact message, and keep the grievance number.
When it needs help
- The grievance reply doesn't give a reason.
- It's been rejected more than once.
- You have a deadline riding on the money.

Questions people ask about this message
Is "OK" a real rejection reason?
No. It's a placeholder. Ask EPFO for the specific reason through EPFiGMS.
Does EPFO have to tell me the reason?
EPFO's instructions require all reasons for rejection to be given to the member at the first stage, and say claims shouldn't be rejected on trivial issues.
