Accepted by Employer Pending at Field Office
Where it appears: The claim or transfer status on the EPFO member portal (or UMANG).
Members quote it with different punctuation between the two parts (a comma, a dash or an arrow). The words are the same.
- What it means
- Your employer has approved the request; it's now waiting at the EPFO office.
- The fix
- Nothing is pending from you or the employer. Wait, check the status and passbook, and raise a grievance if it's well past normal settlement time.
- Get help when
- It has sat at the field office for months, or it moves and then comes back rejected.
I never ask for your OTP, UAN password or bank login.
What it means
This status means the employer's part is done. The request is now with the EPFO field office that has to process it. EPFO's FAQ says that, under the EPF Scheme, a claim is required to be settled within 20 days.
Why it happens
- The field office simply hasn't processed it yet.
- The office is checking something in your record (dates, KYC, service) before it acts.
What you can do yourself (free, on the EPFO portal)
Everything in this list is done on EPFO's own portal or with your employer, and none of it needs a paid agent. I never ask for your OTP, UAN password or bank login, and nobody else should either.
- Check the status again after a few days and keep an eye on both Member IDs' passbooks.
- If it's well past 20 days, file a grievance on EPFiGMS with your claim or transfer ID. It is free.
- If it gets rejected, read the rejection remark exactly and look it up in the issue checker.
When it needs help
- It has been pending for months and grievances were closed without action.
- It keeps getting returned or rejected.
- Service history or pension didn't come across with the money.

Questions people ask about this message
Do I need to do anything at this stage?
Usually no. The request is with EPFO. Your job is to watch the status and escalate if it goes well past normal settlement time.
Should I file a fresh transfer request?
No. A duplicate request can create confusion. Escalate the existing one instead.
